The Yellow Rose Launch Pad is all about changing the mindset of young, at risk females by providing the means and opportunity for candidates to gain formal education, develop critical thinking, good decision making and tenacity to enable the candidates to be successful in all aspects of life.
At risk refers to gifted and hard-working young females who are at risk of not continuing education due to adverse socio-economic factors including but not limited to: lack of funds, domestic or emotional abuse, threat of early marriage, teenage pregnancy, and homelessness.
This is a not-for-profit organisation run by the two founding female Engineering professionals, who want nothing more than to see young females gain access to and succeed in STEM careers, as a means of achieving gender balance.
The Yellow Rose Launch Pad is currently being funded privately from the small handbags of the two female founders. Over time, and as we achieve successful outcomes with candidates, we will look to partner with other private and public contributors who are committed to increasing female participation at all levels of society.
The value of any award to a single candidate is limited to a maximum of 50,000 NGN per year, which will go towards the financial cost of attending school for the year in which the award is made.
Yes. Academic performance will need to be maintained. There is also an expectation that the beneficiaries of this fund will look to give back to others either through this launch pad program or through some other charitable endeavour which may include but is not limited to giving presentations on leadership material to clubs within the school or shared directly with classmates. This will be communicated to the beneficiaries on receipt of grants.
The scholarship is limited to female candidates only, who are currently residing in Nigeria and attending a Nigerian educational institution situated in Nigeria. To qualify to apply, the applicant must be in full-time Junior or Senior Secondary School education. Please refer to the eligibility requirements on the home page for the full list of criteria.

If you haven’t received notification of any sort by the second week of September, that will be confirmation that you have NOT been selected to receive a scholarship.
ONLY successful applicants who have secured a scholarship place will be notified in the last 2 weeks in September, annually. If you haven’t received notification of any sort by the end of September, this will indicate that you have NOT been selected to receive a scholarship this year.
The FAQ’s have been written to answer most questions about the scholarship, and the application process. If you are still unclear about any detail not answered in the FAQ section, you may reach out to us via email and we will get in touch. Since the Yellow Rose Launch Pad is supported by just two working women, in full time careers, our response may be slow, so take your time to read the criteria and FAQ’s to avoid any delay to your application.
Absolutely! We’d be happy to review a later application from applicants who missed the deadline of the previous year, or who can demonstrate the qualities that are required to compete for a scholarship, which are described in the application form.
